How to change Desktop background in Windows XP?

1> Right click on your desktop
2> Select Properties
3> Click on Desktop tab
4> Pick a new Background and click Apply to change your wallpaper 

Another way

1> Right click on any picture you  want 
2> Click on Set as desktop background
